This election is going to be about the independents. Not the staunch conservatives or liberals. It's going to come down to those of us among us who are too damn weak, indecisive, and dumb to be able to pick a side and stick with it. Out of all the voters in the US, the Curmudgeon has the least amount oy respect for the "independent voters". You can't make up your mind and pick a side? What is wrong with you! Of course, everything might not be absolutely perfect and meet every aspect of the "independent's" political needs, but can't they vote based on near political perfection? What a bunch of mush minds.
And, because of the "independents" being sensitive, obviously confused and bumbling mush minds, Newt is never going to make it:
If gay marriage is a voter's primary issue in the 2012 election, then Newt Gingrich says it's perfectly okay not to vote for him in a would-be battle against President Obama.

Newt is an unusual, ego-driven, idiot. He's a smart, well-educated, intellectual word-smith who would shred Obama in any debate. The problem is he readily offends the "independents" because they are voters who are easily confused and offended by everything. Newt is blunt and likes to shock. Independents can't handle being shocked or hearing blunt words. That's why they are "independents" and can't decide which team to play for. His harsh response to some other social issue will drive their confused, last-minute vote right into Obama's overpriced, unaffordable, garage. Then, later, they will regret their vote but it will already have been cast. There is nothing quite like being crippled by indecisiveness.
Everybody except the independents and Gingrich knows that a vote from a no-mind can be changed just by rephrasing a sentence. Independent voters and their weakness of being easily swayed by flowery words and impossible promises, have nothing for which to be proud. Gingrich panders to the specific audience without fear of consequence and that's why he appears to be all over the map at times. Loose cannon.
The fate of the country is decided by people who can't make up their minds. Comforting isn't it?
