The MN DNR is working on a wolf population management plan and they don't appear to be facing too much opposition from all the crazies out there - yet.
You watch, when the plan is finalized and the hunting begins, there will be bearded, mukluk wearing, stinky women and a few scawny, but loud, guys duct-taping themselves to the sides of wolves to save them.
The part that the Curmudgeon finds interesting is that all of the articles that are now popping up regarding wolf hunting consistently repeat the word "kill" when talking about management. When they talk about deer, small game trapping and hunting, the DNR (and the media) uses the words "harvest, management, and cull". With wolves, it's all the more direct "kill" and they say it over and over.
The Curmudgeon can't put it in words concisely, but he senses an unusual tone of the articles regarding wolf management. It'll probably amount to nothing, but it seems funny that they keep talking about what will be allowed to be killed and by who in their management plan. It's like they've put the wolf on a different plane than all other animals which are currently managed.
