Canoe Curmudgeon Is Shutting Down

Alas, the time has come to shut down the Canoe Curmudgeon for good.

I've had a lot of fun and it's been cathartic at times.  I pretty much have no use for liberals and idiots and most Democrats  plus a growing number of Republicans.  I've rubbed some people the wrong way and I have a large list of followers who've cheered me on over the years and I want to thank you all for it.

For a long time now, the Canoe Curmudgeon has had the same gutless individual for a number of years who has harassed this blog every now and then.   He's a complete coward who is offensive, vulgar and I'm pretty sure an unmarried loser living in his mom's basement.   He also teaches physics at one of those online rip-off colleges as I've read some of his writings when he's not acting all insane.  He actually has the ability to sound intelligent instead of half-crazed, but that's his choice.  He's apparently also into ripping off students for profit.

For some strange reason, this guy has to hide from me.   He comes out offending, but he doesn't have any balls which is what leads me to believe that he is some sort of a pervert hiding in his mom's basement.  I used to allow him to participate with comments, but the stuff he writes is not suitable for human consumption, so I began deleting everything without even reading it once.  Being that he is obsessed with me and my blog, he is now trying his dead-level best to disrupt my business as he continues to seek my attention.  He's having zero effect.    He does a little research in old newspaper articles, draws all sorts of  insane, disconnected conclusions with public information,  and then blurts them out hoping desperately that I will notice him.  What other reason would he pursue such a forum with a blog all about attacking my blog?

Well, guess what?  I don't really need this blog to participate politically.  In fact, I really don't need this blog to increase business, which despite the horrible Obama economy, has been doing pretty well and with very few of our customers actually reading the musings of the Curmudgeon.

His latest internet stalking of me is bordering on the ridiculous and I'm pretty certain that the mere mentioning of his activities sends a chill up his leg.

Undoubtedly, I will meet this dude in person as he comes to seek me out wondering why I am tired of playing games with him.  And, like all hidden perverts, he will get his personal, secret thrill, but he will continue to hide because that's what this type of weirdo does.

So, it's been a long run.  The Curmudgeon wrote over 1300 posts ranging on a broad base of topics but the time has come to move on.  The pervert who hides behind fake names will remain and undoubtedly continue until he gets tired of having no subject matter to play with but the Curmudgeon won't be playing in his little imaginary games.  I have bigger fish to fry.

Thanks to all my supporters.  It's been a great run!

    1. Somewhere, hiding in a basement in a pizza-sauce stained T-shirt and 4 day old underwear, sits a pervert smiling wryly.

Thank you Paul, for all of your comments!

  4. CC,

Always enjoy the stories that you share and yes, while I may think you swerve a little to far to the right now and then, I certainly know that if you drive in the middle of the road, you'll get hit from both directions. Many a time, a click on the CC was worth the portage.

    Best regards.

  6. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog and appreciate the considerable time and effort it must have taken you to create it. It is sad that even in cyberspace there isn’t enough room for people of differing opinions to coexist. Such is the way of the bully left. Thanks and good fortune in your future.

    1. I appreciate your support! I spent a fair amount of time typing and opining and it was fun. It's inexplicable why some twits just can't turn the channel on the radio but the fruitcake left is that way. Thanks for tuning in when you did!

  7. I’m not sure if you’re asking a question or replying in kind? LOL
“Who is John Galt?” is a line from the 1957 Ayn Rand novel “Atlas Shrugged”. The book is 1,200 pages long and I will admit to not having read it. The movie adaptation is a trilogy and I have seen parts 1 & 2 (available on Netflix). Part 3 has not been shot yet. I think you would like it. Wikipedia has a synopsis at the following link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlas_Shrugged.

    1. Jeff -

I was replying in kind like a secret handshake of sorts. I saw the first AS, but haven't seen the second AS. The phrase "Who is John Galt" has become a symbol against tyranny and government oppression known by conservatives. I've actually had people in the store ask it and you then know what team they are on. Ayn Rand was really incredible to be able to see so far into the future. It's far too deep (and simple) for intellectual progressive liberals to understand.
